Vermont receives business ranking from Forbes

Forbes Magazine says Vermont’s business climate ranks about in the middle of all the states.

The magazine rated Vermont as the 32nd best state to do business. That’s down two places from last year.

In the category of business costs, Vermont ranked 45th. That means the cost of doing business in the state is high.

Vermont was judged to be 10th best in quality of life.

Overall, New Hampshire was rated as having the best business climate in New England and was 18th in the country.

Connecticut ranked just ahead of Vermont overall, in 31st place; Massachusetts was 36th, Rhode Island – 45th and Maine was 48th.
