Vermont sees above normal rainfall in June

Thunderstorms and clouds seemed to dominate the weather in northern New England in June, but the National Weather Service says it wasn’t really that bad.

The weather service says the number of days with thunderstorms was above normal in Vermont and Maine and about average in New Hampshire. Weatherman Art Lester in Portland, Maine, says all three states also had above-average rain, but nothing remarkable on either count.

Janine Lep of Salisbury, New Hampshire, is among those who says those numbers don’t jibe with her experience. She said it has been so wet and rainy this month she has felt like a mole.
