On the one year anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene, churches, schools, and towns will hold a statewide bell ringing ceremony to show their unity.

The bell ringing is set to start at 7 p.m. on August 28th and last one minute.

Also, in Randolph, there will be a special evening show called "One Year Stronger: A Commemorative Gathering on the First Anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene" at the Chandler Center for the Arts.

The event is free and will feature a musical performance by the Vermont Youth Orchestra and the VYO Chorus. The event will also include remarks from Governor Shumlin and other state leaders.

Stories of the flood will be shared and an exhibit of artwork and photography will be on display to reflect on Irene’s lingering impact on the state.
