Twenty-six Vermont State Police troopers will be in Boston next week to help provide security during the Democratic National Convention. The state police agreed to send the troopers after the Massachusetts State Police asked neighboring New England states for help.

Vermont State Police Commander Thomas Powlovich says the troopers will probably help with traffic control around the convention site in downtown Boston. New Hampshire will be sending 18 troopers; Maine will be sending 25.
