The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife wants to help private landowners make it easier for the endangered Indiana bats to live on their land.
So officials are inviting landowners and anyone interested in learning about bats to a program on Aug. 21.
During late spring through early fall, the Indiana bat lives in forests in the Champlain Valley from Brandon to Hinesburg.
Biologists will help landowners identify Indiana bat habitat on private property and help the landowners find ways to protect it.
