A Vermont power company has agreed to sell its New Hampshire subsidiary. Central Vermont Public Service Company of Rutland says it will sell the small Connecticut Valley Electric Company to Public Service of New Hampshire. PSNH is New Hampshire’s largest electric utility.

Officials say the $8 million deal will result in lower rates for the company’s 10,000 customers in the Claremont, New Hampshire region. The sale must still be approved by state and federal regulators.
