Vermont’s campaign to attract younger workers to the state now has a name.

The “PursueVT” tag was announced Monday at the launch of an effort to recruit young people to live and work in Vermont.

The state’s Chief Marketing Officer Christine Werneke says the name is more than a tag line – it’s a call to action and an invitation to young people.

The campaign and “PursueVT” tag are products of a Department of Economic Development study that identified strategies to help keep young workers in state.

The Next Generation commission was formed in response to census figures that show Vermont has the second oldest population in the nation.

Pursue Vermont will hold networking events around the country. The first event will be held in Boston on Wednesday and will target people who attended college in Vermont, but who are now living in that city.
