Vermont’s best young spellers will go head to head in a statewide spelling bee.
The event takes place Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s College in Colchester.
The winner will represent Vermont in Washington in June in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Wednesday’s state spelling bee is hosted by the Vermont Department of Education, Vermont Principals’ Association, Vermont Humanities Council and Burlington Free Press.
Elementary and middle school students under the age of 16 are eligible to compete.
