The Vermont Housing Finance Agency marked its thirtieth anniversary on Monday with a ceremony at the Statehouse. Former Governor Thomas Salmon, who signed the legislation that created the VHFA in 1974, was part of the celebration, conducted by Governor Douglas.

In three decades, the VHFA has helped more than 24,000 Vermonters buy homes, and has provided funding toward the building of 6,500 affordable housing units in Vermont.
