A judge says the victim of 2005 Burlington carbon monoxide poisoning and her family should seek a protection order from criminal court if they continue to be bothered by the alleged surveillance of a private detective.
Ginger Aldrich is one of eight people suing the companies who built and maintained the apartments and installed the heating boiler and pipe vent that malfunctioned in early 2005.
Aldrich, who suffered permanent brain damage, and her family had asked the court to issue a temporary restraining order to stop the detective from monitoring their travel around Waterford but on Monday the judge refused.
Pietro Lynn, the lead lawyer for New England Air Systems, says the company did not hire the detective.
