Voting began today on the Web site of the USA Today newspaper for which of several Springfields will host the premiere of ‘The Simpsons Movie’ later this month.

Several cities and towns named Springfield around the country are vying for the honor. They’ve made videos promoting their candidacies, which can be viewed on the USA Today site.

Vermont’s version features TV comic Tim Kavenaugh running through downtown Springfield, following a giant frosted donut and being chased by a mob.

Vermont’s Springfield, population about 9,000, is said to be an underdog in the competition that includes much larger cities in Massachusetts, Illinois and Oregon.
