(Charnoff) This week, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra is sponsoring several events commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Verdi Requiem performance at the Terezin concentration camp in Czechoslovakia.

Other music will also be featured. Tomorrow night at St. Michael’s College, musicians will be performing the work of Czech composers who were imprisoned at Terezin.

Recently, VPR Classical’s Walter Parker spoke with Robert DeCormier of Counterpoint and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and pianist Paul Orgel about Terezin.

This was some of the Verdi Requiem performed by the Monteverdi Choir and the Revolutionary and Romantic Orchestra, led by John Eliot Gardiner.

Robert DeCormier will lead the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in the Verdi Requiem this Saturday night, which will be the culmination of the VSO’s "Terezin Remembered" program.
