After more than a year of campaigning, debates and political maneuvering, and ultimately political showdowns, the Democrats are settled on Barack Obama as their candidate – and his previous competitor Hillary Clinton is making good on her promise to support Obama’s candidacy.

Today the two former rivals are making their first joint appearance since Clinton suspended her campaign – and they’ve aptly chosen the town of Unity New Hampshire for that campaign stop.

John Gregg is political editor of the Valley News.  He spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about New Hampshire’s role in the fall election.
