Lake Champlain celebrated its quadricentennial this summer, and garnered worldwide attention. But Vermont is also home to more than 800, albeit smaller lakes. The non-profit Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds works to monitor such lake issuesas invasive species, waterfront development, and conservation.

VPR’s Jane Lindholm talks with with the group’s president, Perry Thomas, and one of its members, Art Brooks about small lake health in Vermont.
