Vermont Electric Cooperative reached agreement Thursday with utility regulators on a rate increase.
Customers’ bills will go up a little more than two percent starting Saturday.
Vermont Electric initially asked for slightly higher rates, but negotiated a compromise with the Douglas administration.
A typical residential homeowner’s bill will go up a $1.96 in the new year.
