Paul Cillo and John McClaughry sit on opposite sides of the political aisle, but they found a common goal: government transparency.

The two former Vermont lawmakers have spent the past six months building a Web site that details how the government works.

The site, www.vttransparency.org, isn’t ready for launching yet, but it might be next month.

Cillo, a Democrat, says the site will help make public data more easily understood.

McClaughry, a Republican, says Vermont residents will be able to see how a lawmaker voted, better understand how the budget gets built and where money gets spent.
