A volunteer worker who was injured during construction of a house in Maine for ABC’s "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" has filed a lawsuit.

Bill Martin, of Bomoseen, Vt., suffered permanent injuries when he fell 30 feet from the roof while helping to build a home in Wells.

The lawsuit targets the show’s production company and the log home manufacturer that built the home. ABC is not named as a plaintiff. A spokeswoman for the production company didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.

The lawsuit alleges that the work site was built was "rife with safety issues." Martin’s lawyer, Walter McKee of Augusta, says he’s surprised more people weren’t hurt or even killed as hundreds of workers scrambled to build a house in a matter of days.
