Vermont police say the chances of finding an Essex couple alive are dwindling every day.

Bill and Lorraine Currier were last week seen on June 8 when they left their jobs.

Essex acting police Chief Brad LaRose says "as time goes on, the concern that one or both of them may no longer be alive increases."

LaRose tells the Burlington Free Press police are unsure if a third party is responsible for the Curriers’ disappearance.

Police say the couple’s phone, bank, computer and other accounts have shown no activity since June 8. Investigators have reviewed video surveillance and carried out 11 search warrants and issued three subpoenas.

Essex police and the state police each have two detectives working the case full-time.

The Curriers’ family has offered a $10,000 reward.
