Vermont police are shaving their heads to raise money for a summer camp for children with cancer.

The 12th annual event benefiting Camp Ta-Kum-Ta in South Hero will be held at the top of Church Street in Burlington tonight at 6:30.

Police aren’t the only ones giving up their hair for individual pledges. Firefighters, business owners and members of the public will also take part.

The camp, which is free for children who have or have had cancer, relies solely on donations.

Since 1998, the event called Cops United for Fighting has raised over $190,000.
