An online campaign is urging Vermonters to keep their economic stimulus money in the state.

The campaign is called Keep it in Vermont.

It’s urging Vermonters to spend the money from the federal government designed to jump start the economy on Vermont farms, businesses, and nonprofits.

Local food advocates Robin McDermott and Rob Williams of Waitsfield are urging Vermonters to spend their windfall in Vermont, where farms and businesses are struggling.

They say the $600 to $1200 checks would go a long way.

So far, 105 Vermonters have pledged to spend more than $83,000 in the state.
