Welch fails to file financial disclosure statement on time

The campaign of Vermont congressional candidate Peter Welch’s says it failed to file a financial disclosure statement in a timely fashion.

Federal law required Welch to file the personal finance disclosure form within 30 days of declaring his candidacy, which he did in late June. But it wasn’t until this month that the form was submitted to the U.S. House clerk’s office in Washington.

Welch campaign manager Carolyn Dwyer says Welch misread the instructions on the form and thought he didn’t need to file it until this May.
