The town of Norton is buzzing, hoping to find out who bought a winning $600,000 Powerball ticket over the weekend.

Julie Charest of the Norton Country Store says she doesn’t know who bought the ticket, but 75% of her lottery customers are Canadians.

Charest says she’d love to tell a customer they’d won the big prize.

It was the second big Powerball prize recently in Vermont. Earlier this month a winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Williston.
Vermont first joined the Powerball lottery in 2003.

Hadley Melendy of the Vermont Lottery says the $1 million prize was the largest Powerball win in the state.

The $600,000 sold in Norton was the state’s second winning ticket for that amount. A $600,000 ticket was also sold last fall.
