Starting next month there will be no smoking in Winooski’s bars. The city council voted Monday night to ban smoking in those establishments.
Some bar owners say the ban might hurt business because it could drive patrons to private clubs, which are exempt from the ban. The city has four clubs and five bars.
Winooski isn’t the only Chittenden County city to ban smoking in its bars. Burlington and South Burlington banned bar smoking earlier this year.
