Vermont State Police say a confrontation between motorists that began when a truck passed a car that had slowed for another ended when the trucker ran over and fatally injured one of the people involved.

Police say 45-year-old Laurie Bragdon of Guildhall died yesterday at the hospital in St. Johnsbury after she was run over by a tractor-trailer truck driven by 41-year-old Delbert Degree of St. Johnsbury.

Police said last evening they had not issued any charges in the case; their investigation was continuing.

Police say Bragdon and her daughter Sarah became angry at Degree’s driving in Lunenburg. Both were heading for Saint Johnsbury and when they got there, they had words in a parking lot before Degree hit Laurie Bragdon with his truck.
