Workshop Encourages Girls To Pursue Engineering

Only about 10 percent of engineers in the United States are women. That percentage hasn’t shifted much over the last 20 years. Recently, the Center for Technology in Essex and Vermont Works for Women held "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day," to give high school girls a better idea of the different kinds of jobs that fall under the umbrella of engineering, and encourage them to consider it as a career path. VPR’s Samantha Fields attended the day and brought back this report.
